Water Dialogues – Empowerment through education
We are honored to be joined by 2021’s Stockholm Water Prize Laureate Sandra Postel for this Water Dialogue. Her ground-breaking work has paved the way for new approaches that help the world address problems such as water scarcity, climate change and the loss of freshwater biodiversity. Sandra Postel’s unique way of communicating about the water that is all around us – in our clothes, on our plates – has helped develop how we see water.
Pontsho Moletsane was named the Stockholm Junior Water Prize winner in 2005. The winning project was a development of a system, which reduced water usage in small-scale irrigation. Since then, Pontsho has continued his stride for saving water. Describing himself as a “solutionist”, he has founded the start-up, Yellow Beast, with an aim to preserve natural resources.
This SIWI webinar series invites the audience to get acquainted with the laureates’ and SJWP winners’ respective work and to contribute to the discussion on how the world needs to respond to current challenges, and future needs.
