Seminar: Sanitation for society, including all

Alix has worked in the Water and Sanitation sector since 2013. As an independent consultant, she has planned and led operational research projects in Africa and Asia. Focused on governance and management of adequate services, she worked for several NGOs and development partners. In 2017, she joined the Shit Flow Diagram project, focused on urban sanitation, the service chain and its interlinkages. Building on this experience, she decided to start a PhD dedicated to sustainable services for emptying and transport of faecal sludge, accessible to all.

In 2012, she co-founded the Water Youth Network. Among other tasks, she was involved in conferences including Stockholm World Water Week and its Young Professionals’ Activities. She enjoys fostering intergenerational dialogues.

Alix holds a Master’s in political sciences and a Master’s in Development Studies from La Sorbonne University (Paris), and a Bachelor’s in law from the University of Nantes. She is now a PhD student at Loughborough University and is part of the Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC).
