Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General at the United Nations, will speak at the opening of this year’s World Water Week.
Amina J. Mohammed will be a keynote speaker during the opening of this year’s World Water Week. Last year, Ms Mohammed joined the closing of World Water Week through a video message, when she stressed the importance of progress on Sustainable Development Goal 6 as part of realizing other SDGs: “only by assuring the sustainability of freshwater and access to sanitation for all will we achieve the SDGs”.
Ms Mohammed also pointed out that addressing water from a holistic perspective is integral to implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Her speech will be livestreamed via SIWI’s social media channels. You can also register for the Week here.
