Are you a young professional, or Master and PhD student? Can you be in Stockholm in the last week of August this year? We are looking for a few exceptional, curious, and passionate individuals to be Junior Rapporteurs at this year’s World Water Week (26-31 August 2018).

Candidates should preferably be based in Sweden and be interested in, or have expertise related to this year’s theme, “Water, Ecosystems and Human Development”. Explore what it’s about here.

World Water Week is the leading global annual event on water and development issues. Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators and young professionals from a range of sectors and countries come to Stockholm to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water- and development-related challenges of today.

As a Junior Rapporteur, you will play an instrumental role in the reporting and conclusiowns process. You will work in teams to, together with experienced Lead Rapporteurs, attend sessions to capture, and then summarize and analyse the discussions held during the Week. Your distilled messages* will be presented during the closing plenary session on 31 August. These messages will also feature prominently in the Overarching Conclusions published during the autumn.

*Reporting may feed into international processes on science and policy development.

Good to know:

You need to be available full-time 25-31 August, 2018. Also, you will have to allocate time for writing a report together with your team just after the Week is finished.

The position does not include any remuneration, but does include registration and therefore lunch each day. All other costs, such as travel and accommodation, are at your expense.

Junior Rapporteurs play a very important role in World Water Week. We won’t lie – it will be a full week, but it will also be a serious learning and networking opportunity – one not to be missed!
