ICWC Water Dialogue: Sustainable hydropower and transboundary water cooperation, 1 June

with Dr. Laura Bull, International Centre for Hydropower, Norway

Dr. Bull will discuss the sustainability dimensions of hydropower development, and describe risk calculation and social and environmental impact assessment. Through experiences from Latin America she will describe the prevention and administration of environmental conflicts, conflict mediation and empowerment of women through hydropower development.

About the speaker

Dr. Laura Bull has a Masters in International Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Contemporary Process and Foreign Affairs. She has extensive experience in international trends within the energy sector, infrastructure, trade policies, technical standards and regulations in global strategy.

She is Head of Studies at the International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) in Norway, an international association of companies and organizations that are active in all aspects of hydropower generation and supply, financed by NORAD. Laura designs, delivers, implements and reviews capacity building courses dealing with all aspects of the hydropower industry.
