Inter-American Development Bank

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is devoted to improving lives. Established in 1959, the IDB is a leading source of long-term financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IDB also conducts cutting-edge research and provides policy advice, technical assistance and training to public and private sector clients throughout the region. The IDB is the leading source of multilateral financing for Latin America and the Caribbean. In water and sanitation, the IDB supports member-countries in achieving universal access to sustainable, water, sanitation and hygiene services. It seeks to promote comprehensive solutions for infrastructure, institutional strengthening and financing; to promote multisector interventions with positive social and economic impact; to improve opportunities for low-income and most vulnerable populations; and to reinforce the concept of water security in the region. Being a 2019 Key Collaborating Partner for World Water Week, is crucial for the IDB to be part of the dialogue of “Water for society – Including all”.
