SIWI Welcomes the Synthesis Report on the Post-2015 Development Agenda by UN Secretary General

SIWI applauds the Secretary General’s strong focus on water in the Synthesis Report on the Post-2015 Development Agenda released this afternoon.

We welcome his support of the Open Working Group’s recommendation for a dedicated goal on water, as well as his recognition of water as a key to our future prosperity.

We look forward to the development of targets and indicators that encompass access to safe water and good sanitation, water as the resource that grows our food and our economies, and the key element for disaster risk reduction.

SIWI calls upon UN member states to continue their efforts towards building a truly water wise, sustainable world.
