Adapting to a Changing Climate: A City, A Country, A Planet

Welcome to learn about and discuss international cutting edge tools and approaches to climate change adaptation, and current strategies being applied here in Sweden and Stockholm.

John Matthews is Secretariat Coordinator in AGWA, an international network which has developed a series of publication, products, tools and cutting edge approaches to support climate risk assessment, resilient infrastructure development and water resource planning.

Åsa Sjöström is head of the Swedish National Knowledge Centre for Climate Change Adaptation based at SMHI, which provides tools and information to help the Swedish society cope with a changing climate, now and in the future.

Hanna Sundqvist coordinates climate change adaptation at the County Board of Stockholm.   After initial presentations, Anna Forslund, SIWI, will moderate a discussion on the opportunities in Sweden and Stockholm to improve understanding of the challenges faced at home, and share Sweden’s domestic practices worldwide.
