Coping with drought – Institutional innovation in water management
Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry are pleased to present prominent guest speaker Nicholas Brozović.
Nicholas Brozović will highlight the differences in approaches in various states in the US and also remind us of the increasing strategic importance of groundwater resources in an era when surface water sources are already heavily exploited and when rainfall uncertainties increase. Prof. Jan Lundqvist, Stockholm International Water Institute and member of the Academy will moderate the discussion to get reflections on the need for institutional reforms and farmers’ response strategies to “the new normal” of consecutive and prolonged droughts.
