New Steering Committee for the Action Platform for Source-to-Sea Management announced

The newly elected Steering Committee for the Action Platform for Source-to-Sea Management (S2S Platform) has just been announced, with three new member organisations, and seven continuing ones.

S2S Platform coordinator, Ruth Mathews, welcomed the new members “The committee members for 2023 – 2026 represent the growing diversity of the S2S Platform community with organizations having expertise in fresh water and ocean issues, and from international organizations, academia, the private sector, and nature conservation. Such a range of perspectives will ensure a holistic approach in directing the activities of the S2S Platform.”

Mathews also celebrated the achievements of the outgoing committee, “The success of the previous Steering Committee members cannot be understated. Under their watch, the source-to-sea management approach has really gained traction and is being promoted by many as necessary to address sustainable development challenges across the globe. Their strategic leadership has strengthened the S2S Platform and broadened its impact.”

The Steering Committee, elected by the partners of the S2S Platform, guides the direction of the Platform. It identifies annual priorities and takes a leading role in promoting the source-to-sea approach by engaging its collective networks. It is elected every three years, with the new committee beginning its term in October 2023.

Expressions of interest are still open until 10 November for the position of Chair of the Steering Committee, as Torkil Jønch Clausen will step down later this year. Find out more and how to apply here:
