Nature under the magnifying glass

We are Adam and Lenka, each of us comes from a school with different focus, but we have the same aim and that is to help younger students with understanding, that they have to behave more responsibly to our planet and not to take water for granted. The name of our project “Nature under the magnifying glass” can be explained in two ways.

Firstly, we point out the importance of water in nature in detail and secondly, we took interesting microscopic photos from nature and use them in our educational program which consists of an entertaining escape game, exhibition and worksheets for younger students. We visit elementary schools and ecological centres with this project and present it to childern.
This is how I came up with the idea for this project:

This project came about thanks to a coincidence. Several years ago, the Jihlava Gymnasium purchased an Olympus BX53 microscope and it had a strong impression on us. We started looking at nature up close,

Nature under the magnifying glass The aim of our project was to demonstrate the irreplaceable role water plays in the ecosystem. For this purpose, we developed an experiential educational program that is primarily intended to supplement the People and Nature unit in the upper-elementary-school curriculum. Based on this knowledge, pupils realize the importance of maintaining the natural balance of existing living systems, including humans. The educational area also significantly promotes the creation of open thinking (open to alternative viewpoints), critical thinking and logical consideration.
