Jana Spiller

I am a 17-year-old high school student from Germany, and I am interested in environmental protection and innovative technology. Together with a partner, I developed WarnMe, a simple, low-cost, and user-friendly flood warning system. It is designed to measure water levels and flow speeds in real time and to warn people early through our own app. I enjoy working on practical solutions to real-world problems and environmental issues. Being part of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize is a great opportunity for me to share our idea and connect with others.

Tell us what the water concern in your country is!

One key water issue in Germany is the increasing frequency of local heavy rainfall events due to climate change, leading to more flash floods and growing regional water imbalances.

This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:

A sustainable future can be achieved by protecting and managing water resources responsibly through efficient use, reducing pollution and contamination, and restoring ecosystems. This approach ensures clean water for everyone, supports biodiversity, and builds resilience to adapt to future climate challenges.
