Tell us what the water concern in your country is!Spain is one of the most water-stressed industrialized countries in the world. According to the World Bank, the country faces the challenge of ensuring long-term water security. Therefore, in 2023, Spain experienced its worst drought in almost a century.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:In my opinion, one of the solutions for a sustainable future may be to use less plastic materials and use more renewable ones instead. Therefore, water contamination means that we can’t consume this water in agriculture or domestically.
The life of the loggerhead turtle in the Mediterranean Sea: A cycle interacting with plastics
Within the framework of an interdisciplinary context, the cycle of the loggerhead sea turtle has been analyzed, from its birth to its death, focused on its interaction with plastic waste, including a study of the analysis of its presence on some beaches on the coast. The results indicate the presence of these residues in the first contacts of the sea turtle since it is born. Likewise, samples of plastics ingested by loggerhead turtles have been analyzed, with PE being the majority. Finally, it should be noted that the behavior of captive specimens of the CRAM indicated a greater curiosity towards light colors, these being also the majority in the samples collected.
