My name is Shegufta Mehjabeen and I am 16 years old. I am from Bangladesh. I have always been interested in different science topics. Working on different problems in the environment has always inspired me and I hope to continue this.
I am very delighted to get this opportunity to participate in this competition and to gain lots of wholesome experiences by getting to meet many new people of different nationalities who share the same thought about our environment.
My country Bangladesh has a wide range of water concerns. But water crisis is the most significant one. Millions of people in my country are facing this problem in their day to day life.

Performance of human hair as a natural bio sorbent for treating oily water
Oily-water problem is a rising problem with the rapid industrial and economic growth. Oily wastes are one of the major pollutants in the aquatic environment and are causing serious problems. The conventional methods such as skimming, siphoning, or burning, can be costly, take several days, and have less efficiency. Human hair can be utilized to deal with the oily water problem using the adsorption process. The purpose of this study was to introduce a system that could efficiently purify oily water by separating oil from the water. Human hair can be modified into hair boom or mats to treat oily water.
