I was one of the SJWP finalists in 2010. We designed a Solar Powered Waste Water Management system.  
I completed my qualification at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2015. I studied Environmental Management. I currently work for the Department of water & sanitation under Water Service Regulation. 
I participate in the 2020 vision programs of the Department as a coordinator and a Judge. The programs includes the South African Youth Water Prize.  

In South Africa the scarce fresh water is decreasing in quality because of an increase in pollution and the destruction of river catchments, caused by urbanisation, deforestation, damming of rivers, destruction of wetlands, industry, mining, agriculture, energy use and accidental water pollution. Some part of the country have experience severe drought. However, recovery programs are in place.

After being a finalist at the SJWP, I decided to pursue a career in water and became an advocate for Water Resource Management. Through this journey I have realized that it's important to share my experiences with others and ensuring that the younger generations are aware of opportunities that are out there for them.

Improve Sewage Systems: Clean drinking water starts with a good sewage system. Without proper sanitation, the water in an area becomes ridden with disease and any number of other problems. By improving the sewage systems in these areas, we can prevent water scarcity from becoming any worse.
