I am a 12th grade student from Vientiane, Laos. My hobby is to draw and listento music. I enjoy learning new languages, currently learning Japanese. I also like to explore new places during my freetime. By working on this project I was able to learn a lot and explore different ideas. I am glad to be part of SJWP alumni.
Tell us what the water concern in your country is!One of the main concerns of our country is flood. We had a really bad flood in southern Laos. It displaced many people and caused a lot of damage to property and precious lives.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:The solution to flood in my opinion is better water management and creative ideas to detecting and predicting the floods.

Coffee Clay Water Filter
This project is a simple solution that can help people who are in need of good water quality while only using natural ingredients. Our Coffee-Clay Water Filter can remove dirt particles from the water and make it drinkable. The water we have successfully cleaned so far is from the Mekong River, rain water, municipality water, and underground water. This is a project that we believe has great potential in addressing the issues of contaminated and dirty water by using a filter which is only made from readily available and low-cost ingredients such as coffee and clay.
