Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is an independent, non-profit organization based in Stockholm and working globally to improve how societies manage and make decisions about water. We help ensure that water supports resilient, fair, and sustainable futures by bringing partners together, developing trusted knowledge, and turning insights into practical action.
We work with governments, organizations, companies and communities to address challenges such as climate-related water shortages and floods, cooperation over shared rivers and lakes, and ensuring that all people are included in water decisions. Through dialogue, research, and capacity-building, we help create solutions that last.
By connecting people, knowledge, and policy, SIWI helps make water governance a foundation for stability, development, and climate resilience worldwide.
