Research, Development and Innovation
At SIWI, the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) department bridges science, policy, and practice to drive forward water-related solutions for a changing world. We focus on applied research that addresses today’s most urgent water and climate challenges—developing tools, methodologies, and policy recommendations that help decision-makers take action.
RDI leads SIWI’s work on holistic water governance, nature-based solutions, and systems approaches such as the water-energy-food nexus and source-to-sea management. We collaborate across sectors and scales to support robust water systems that contribute to climate resilience, sustainable development, and equitable resource management.
Through partnerships, convening dialogues, and contributing to key global processes such as the UNFCCC climate negotiations and the Water for Climate Pavilion RDI ensures that knowledge and innovation shape policies that matter.
