The high-level event will officially launch the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action, crafting a stronger water dimension within the global climate action. The Baku Dialogue will serve as a COP-to-COP collaboration platform fostering continuity and coherence on water and its interplay with climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and desertification, focusing on actions at the international, regional, and basin levels.
SIWI’s own Thomas Rebermark, Director of Swedish Water House, will provide a 2-minute speech during the “Partnership Dialogue: Working Together on Water for Climate Action” to voice support to the Presidency initiative and raise awareness around the need for sustainable, innovative investments in water and sanitation, ensuring the global community makes progress towards the water-related goals and targets. His remarks and insights on why water action is urgently needed will be valuable towards establishing and elevating a consistent and meaningful dialogue on water to urgently tackle the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity and nature loss, and pollution.
