World Water Week 2021 may be our most eagerly anticipated event ever, both for its exciting content and because it is a chance to meet others, despite the global pandemic. Across the world people feel the need to start Building Resilience Faster – which is our theme this year. We are now putting together a programme with sessions focused on collaboration to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.
World Water Week will take place on 23-27 August as a fully digital event. As always, it is curated by SIWI but co-created with high-profile organizations hosting sessions on their areas of expertise. This means that participants get first-hand accounts and insights from actors all over the world, with a chance to follow new trends and events as they unfold. At this turbulent time in history, nothing can be more important.
Here are some topics that will be explored during World Water Week 2021:
To date, 314 sessions have been accepted. The programme is however not yet finalized. Organizations have until 31 May to submit proposals to convene sessions in different formats, as described in the Call for Session Proposals. But that is not all – we also offer interested organizations a chance to host networking activities, with a range of options to choose from. A Call for Networking and Expo Proposals will open on 18 May as the same time as the programme goes live. With this dual focus on high-quality content and a mix of networking opportunities we hope to create a World Water Week that meets all the high expectations – stay tuned for more updates.
