The Stockholm Water Prize, Stockholm Junior Water Prize, and World Water Week are important and internationally recognized platforms for spreading knowledge and fostering engagement around the issue of sustainable water use.
Stockholm aims to be a city that leads the work on climate transition, and these arenas are crucial in raising awareness and sharing knowledge about new solutions and projects for how water can be used more sustainably. SIWI’s international aid activities have been successfully carried out in many ways and with great dedication, but are now in a transition process.
The Stockholm Water Foundation has held a statutory board meeting where new members from the City of Stockholm were elected to the board. During the meeting, a new acting chairperson and first vice chairperson were also elected. The background to the new composition of the city’s representation on the board is the transition process that SIWI is undergoing, which includes organizational changes. The newly elected board will continue to work with this process. A new board meeting is planned for the end of September, and the board will provide further updates after that.
