The Stockholm Water Foundation (SWF) celebrates exceptional achievements in water and inspires innovative, water-wise solutions through two of the world’s most prestigious water awards: the Stockholm Water Prize and the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. Since 1991, the Stockholm Water Prize has honoured some of the most influential individuals and organizations in the global water community. A few years later, the Stockholm Junior Water Prize was launched to recognize the next generation of water leaders—young scientists and innovators from around 40 countries each year.

Stockholm Water Prize

The Prize is awarded by Stockholm Water Foundation in cooperation with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and presented by H.M King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, who is the official patron of the Prize.

Stockholm Junior Water Prize

Every year, tens of thousands of students aged 15 to 20 enroll in the competition with bold water project proposals of environmental, scientific, social, or technological significance.
